Accreditation

The MEM program is accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET, http://www.abet.org, as part of UConn’s School of Engineering, in both Manufacturing Engineering and Engineering Management.  ABET is the same organization that accredits all engineering programs at UConn and national peer institutions.

The MEM program is also accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) as part of UConn’s School of Business.

These accreditations affirm the University of Connecticut’s commitment to academic quality and educational excellence. Our graduates:

They will have developed a record of solving business problems and contributing substantively to the evolving practice of engineering from this perspective.
  • Compete successfully using lean manufacturing and quality management principles in the design and manufacture of products, or the development of service processes. They will have demonstrated progress towards leadership roles in this area, through promotion or growing project management responsibilities.
  • Apply high professional standards, with up-to-date knowledge and personal skills, and a strong commitment to life-long learning. They will have demonstrated this commitment through participation in professional societies, by making progress towards professional certifications, or through the pursuit of advanced degrees.
